Gleaming Radiant Marble mobilises a series of sigils generated through a process of algorithmic reduction. Beginning with photographic reproductions of paintings, source images were translated into text and subjected to successive acts of subtraction, with duplicated characters removed until only singular residues remained. These remaining fragments were reconfigured into a symbolic lexicon of glyphic forms that exist between language, code and image.
Within the work, these sigils are activated through a soundtrack composed from manipulated found recordings, producing a dynamic field of audiovisual correspondence. Sound operates as a generative structure rather than an accompanying element, shaping the movement and behaviour of the symbols as they circulate through states of emergence, repetition and transformation.
The work is concerned with translation as both method and metaphor. Information passes through a chain of conversions; image to text, text to code, code to symbol, symbol to motion; where meaning is continually displaced, fragmented and reconstituted. The resulting forms function as speculative artefacts of a post-digital condition, simultaneously invoking the logics of computation, divination and archival recovery.
Situated between systems aesthetics, generative abstraction and contemporary digital mysticism, Gleaming Radiant Marble explores how symbolic meaning persists within increasingly computational environments. The work proposes a form of techno-esotericism in which information itself becomes a material for ritual transformation, and where the desire to locate patterns within complexity remains fundamentally unchanged.
